Born and raised in New Zealand Scott grew up playing and enjoying any and all sports he could. After graduating from university he worked in hospitality and government jobs until he had enough money saved to complete a road trip across North America in 2003. He arrived in England to play Cricket. After meeting his Agassiz based wife in a chance encounter in San Diego of all places, he moved across the globe to settle in, get married and raise a family.
Scott works for Manual Life Wealth Inc. as a Mutual Funds Representative and Independent Life Insurance Advisor. He holds designations as a Qualified Associate Financial Planner (QAFP), a Registered Retirement Consultation (RRC) and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Scott’s community engagement has including Fundraising for Big Brother Big Sisters out of Abbotsford, coaching youth sports and working with the Agassiz Harrison Aquanauts Swim Club in a volunteer role.
Scott has now been living permanently in Agassiz since 2008 and has three children. He has replaced soccer with golf and still dabbles with Cricket. Scott loves the local small town community and enjoys everything Harrison offers on and off the lake.
Scott said of his election to the Board of Directors of Agassiz Harrison Community Services, “”I am proud to contribute to my local community and have seen first-hand the importance of the programs AHCS carries out. As a family, we have enjoyed the care of Family Parenting Place with our three children, enjoyed summer activities put on through youth programs and even had my wife’s grandmother find purpose in volunteering at the Agassiz Thrift Store for many years. I truly believe ‘it takes a village’ ,and in this case a community, to support its citizens throughout life and I look forward to enhancing peoples’ lives in some small way through this role.”

Becci grew up in Northern B.C. until the age of 10 when her family moved to the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. After graduating from Heritage Park Secondary School in 1999 she moved to Calgary to study to become a Medical Office Assistant. In 2004 Becci moved back to B.C. where she has raised her three children. It was always important for Becci to work in the community and as a result she took a job with the District of Kent in the Recreation Department where she has been a long-serving employee. Now, more than ever, with three teenagers Becci sees the importance and the impact of a strong, healthy community. This sparked a passion in her to work with and for the community. She enjoys seeing locals around town, talking to students that go to school with her kids and interacting with elders about how much Agassiz has changed and grown. She is the Treasurer for the AESS PAC, helps coach her son’s soccer team and volunteers her energy and time for the Fall Fair. Becci is proud to sit on the Board of Directors for the Agassiz Harrison Community Services. Please stop Becci to say hello if you see her out in the community.

Scott Schultz joined the Board of Directors of Agassiz Harrison Community Services in 2024.
Scott grew up on a family farm in a small community in central Alberta. After he graduated from high school, he attended university in Calgary and obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration degree, and ultimately a Master of Business Administration degree. After many years of ‘enjoying’ the harsh Alberta winters, he decided in 2018 that it was time to make the move out to British Columbia to enjoy the beauty and the milder winters that the province has to offer. Agassiz was the perfect choice as it offers such a great mix of being situated perfectly in the Fraser Valley, it is surrounded by beautiful nature, and still retains the small town feel that Scott grew up with and love.
Scott is happy to work in the Agassiz / Harrison region for the Village of Harrison Hot Springs as their Chief Financial Officer. In his free time, Scott loves to bike, jog and ski in the area. He also really enjoys spending time outside in the yard and visiting with close friends and family on weekends.
Donna Petrovics

As a mother of three young children who attend Kent Elementary, Donna has deep roots in the Agassiz-Harrison community. Many local families may recognize her from her time working with Agassiz Harrison Community Services as the Early Years Navigator. In this capacity she organized the very successful Story Time in the Park and has supported families through programs like the Family Parenting Place and Baby Rhyme Time. She continues to stay actively involved in the community whether it is volunteering as a Girl Guide leader, supporting school activities, attending community events, or simply lending a hand wherever it is needed.
With a background as a registered nurse in both acute and palliative care, as well as experience working in Kent Institution, Donna brings a strong understanding of the importance of wellness, health promotion, and the need for ongoing supports for vulnerable families and our growing aging population.
Raised in a Canadian military family, Donna values resilience, adaptability, and service. Alongside her husband, she also co-founded a manufacturing company that has installed over 150 Floatation Therapy Cabins across North America, with the vision of helping people find healing and innerconnection.
Donna said of her role on Agassiz Harrison Community Services: “I am honored to serve on the Board of Directors and remain committed to helping our community meet the diverse needs of its members, ensuring that everyone, especially the most vulnerable, can feel safe, supported, and connected”.
Wil Watchorn

Wil brings a breadth of experience, passion and commitment to community service to the role as Board Member with Agassiz Harrison Community Services.
Wil is a resident of Harrison Hot Springs where he is raising his family. He is a teacher in School District 78, Fraser Cascade and has an extensive professional background which has included working as a Youth Worker, Community Support Worker and Behaviour Consultant. Wil holds a B.C. teaching certificate.
Wil served as an elected Councillor with the Village of Harrison and has demonstrated his commitment to community by serving as a Specialized Foster Parent with the Ministry of Children and Family Development and as an Ombudsman with the University College of the Fraser Valley.
Wil said of his election to the Board of Directors: “I am very excited to join the AHCS Board. AHCS has been such a great aid to many people I’ve cared about over the years. Having the opportunity to contribute to society and my hometown is a great gift to me. When I moved back to Harrison to raise my family, I began looking for ways to meaningfully invest in the future of our community and AHCS has always been there for the security, growth, and support of all people here. I’m so happy to have something to give.”
Fred Talen
Mayor of the Village of Harrison Hot Springs
Municipal Non-Voting Liaison
Fred was elected Mayor of Harrison Hot Springs on September 21, 2024.
Fred retired from the public service of the Northwest Territories in 2021, after working there for over 30 years. This included two decades working in the area of Indigenous Rights negotiations.
Fred was under contract with the Government of the Northwest Territories as a Chief Negotiator, mentor, and advisor from July 2022 to September 2024.
Fred has a Bachelor of Arts and Masters’ of Arts from the University of Alberta. Fred is certified in conflict resolution by the Justice Institute of BC.
Fred, and his family, moved to Harrison Hot Springs in 2021.
Fred serves as a non-voting municipal liaison for the Village of Harrison.
Tom Walker
Board Advisor – Non-Voting
Tom Walker is serving as a Board Advisor – non-voting to the Board of Directors. In this role Tom will be supporting the Board of Directors in various governance functions, including helping to develop the next Strategic Plan and supporting the Planning Committee. Tom served on the Board of Directors for six years, including serving as the Board Chair for the 2023/2024 year.
Tom is a retired business executive with more than 35 years of global healthcare industry leadership. He has experience in corporate governance, strategic planning, produce development, sales and marketing and operational management. Tom has held senior management position with Eli Lily (Toronto, ON and Seattle, WA), Cardinal Health (San Diego, CA) and ACFA Healthcare (Waterloo, ON). He has also held several directorship positions throughout this career.
Tom lives with his wife Vivian in Harrison Hot Springs where they were married 46 years ago. They have two sons, Luke and Ben and two grandsons.
