Better at Home Program:
United Way's Better at Home program helps BC's older adults continue living independently in their own homes by providing simple, non-medical home support services.
Agassiz-Harrison Community Services Society provides:
- Transportation
- Light housekeeping with optional laundry service
- Friendly visits and Friendly Phone calls
Seniors who receive Better at Home services may pay a fee based on their income.

Better at Home is funded by the Government of B.C. and managed by the United Way.
Seniors' Resource Services:
Appointments and drop in services are available at Agassiz-Harrison Community Services Society at 7086 Cheam Ave. Agassiz, at no cost.
Within the centre you will have access to the following services:
- Virtual meeting space
- Computer access
- Printing and copying forms
- Assistance with accessing local, provincal, and federal services and programs
- Assistance with online shopping, zoom, or other computer programs
- Counselling and support services
- Friendly phone
- Seniors resource kits

Friendly Phone Program:
The program provides a sense of companionship to seniors and disabled persons living alone. Contact is made by phone on Wednesday and Friday afternoons from the Community Services office. The Friendly Phone Program is a free service provided by volunteers. To register for the Friendly Phone Program, please call 604-796-2585.
Drive4U
The Drive4U program provides transportation for community members who have registered with the program.
While trips for medical appointments are the priority, the program also provides trips for grocery shopping or social events when drivers are available.
